Bonsai Pots -
The appreciation and enjoyment of ceramic art $75
A modern book which covers a wide range of pots, collectable, usuable, Japanese, Chinese, modern and antique.
Written by one of the premeier collectors in Japan, Hatanaka-san whose collection was almost destroyed by the earthquake in Kobe in 1995. It features five different sections. The first is dedicated to individual potters and their most famous works, the second to famous kilns/areas of Japan that produce ceramics. The third and fourth sections refer to Chinese pots and the final section is about potters who are still active now.
There is some text, a small description of the potter/kiln and all text is Japanese. That said the majority of the book is photographs and on some pages there are over 5 or 6 different pots. On average there are three pots per page.
The book is hardbacked B5 size and comes with a cardboard slipcase. It is in brand new condition and was published in 1996. 256 pages in full colour, the majority of which is photographic.
If you are interested in Bonsai pots, particularly the small collectable pots then this is a must buy book
