Roughly Translates as an overview of Japanese Bonsai. Published by the Nippon Bonsai Association during the 70's (no date given). This is one of the most famous of the beautiful large format bonsai books that Japan loves to make. At 35 by 27 cm and with over 350 pages this is a big book.
Divided into the four seasons there are over 300 full colour pictures of various species and styles of the finest Japanese bonsai. You can see many different forms of Bonsai, from the Yamadori style which was becoming popularised at the time by Kimura to the more elegant and refined style which had been prevalent in the pre/post war years.
It comes in an outer carboard box which has some slight dirt and a solid, covered dust jacket. The book is in absolutely perfect condition and has is as new. It is made and designed in the elegant and refined style that you would expect from Japanese book and bonsai makers.
Text is all Japanese but is mainly colour photographs.
A cornerstone of any serious collection, this book is a must have and a great place to start learning about the history and true heart of Bonsai
