Documentary
This is the first part of a documentary filmed at Shunkaen Bonsai Museum in Tokyo where I apprenticed. In the video, which sadly is in Japanese, you can see the beautiful museum and a brief insight into the world in which I spent over four years. Also featured in the video is Sandro Segneri, the famous Italian Bonsai artist who is one of the greatest outside of Japan. He stayed at Shunkaen during the summer of 2005. You can also see American Matt Ouwinga who was studying there atthe time and Frenchman Xavier Brusset who was a fellow apprentice for a year. I feature heavily in the second part which can be seen by following the link at the bottom.

I feature in this part, talking in bad japanese, giving an interview and talking about why I like bonsai and what I plan to do. You can also see us at Asagao Ichi, a famous flower festival in Tokyo where we worked selling flowers, a throwback to Kobayashi-sensei's background. You can also see the air layered trident maple that is now world famous.
